Ray Smith Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Colorado Motor Carriers Foundation
The Ray Smith Scholarship was established to recognize and reward outstanding high school academic performance and overall involvement in community affairs by students and family members of the trucking industry and CMCA member companies in Colorado.
This is a yearly scholarship program sponsored by the Colorado Motor Carriers Foundation. We encourage all of our member companies to spread the word about this valuable program throughout your driver, mechanic, and safety management teams. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors or college-bound returning students who intend to enter a technical/diesel/mechanical school or an accredited college.
Eligibility Requirements
- Have a high school diploma, or a GED.
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Who is Ray Smith?
Ray Smith was a visionary CMCA member that advocated the need for education to improve the Colorado Trucking Industry’s pool of trained managers and technical experts. The Ray Smith Scholarship fund has assisted many students over the years. The Safety Management Council, Maintenance Council and Allied Conference give generously throughout the year to this Scholarship fund. The Colorado Motor Carriers Association appreciates all of the gracious member companies that have also contributed.
