CBC Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Congressional Black Caucus Foundation
Overview
Founded in 1988 by the spouses of members of the Congressional Black Caucus, this scholarship program was created to respond to reduced federal funding for education and scholarship initiatives—cuts that have had a disproportionate impact on communities of color. The program awards financial support to academically gifted, motivated African American/Black students who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral study across a range of disciplines.
Eligibility
- African American or Black applicants.
- Graduating high school seniors, as well as students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs in various fields, are eligible to apply.

Each award is paid one time per academic year directly to the institution the student attends. The award amount is allocated evenly across the fall and spring semesters.
