AAUW Colorado Springs Branch Scholarships

Introduction
The Colorado Springs Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) supports gender equity through advocacy, education, and research. For the 2026–2027 academic year the Branch will award multiple scholarships, each worth at least $3,000. Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate student with a minimum of 36 earned college credit hours at the time of application.
- Must have attended either Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) or the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), and plan to be enrolled in classes at PPSC or UCCS for the fall 2026 semester.
- Must hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00.
Required application materials
1. Complete all pages of the AAUW scholarship application, including the applicant’s signature on the “Use of Application Materials” statement.
2. Official college transcripts sent electronically directly from the issuing institution to ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com.
3. A personal statement prepared according to the instructions on the application form.
4. Two letters of recommendation emailed directly by the recommenders to ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com:
- One letter should focus primarily on leadership, volunteer service, employment, internships, or other nonacademic accomplishments.
- The other should focus primarily on academic/classroom performance.
How to submit
All application documents should be submitted as PDF files via email to the Scholarship Committee Chair at ScholarshipsAAUW.cos@gmail.com. Recommenders must send recommendation letters directly from their own email addresses, and colleges must forward official transcripts directly.
Deadline
All electronic materials must be received by March 1, 2026.
Notification and publicity
Selected recipients will be contacted personally by March 20, 2026. Winners’ names will also be posted online at www.coloradosprings-co.aauw.net.
Follow-up and recognition
Scholarship recipients will be honored at the AAUW Welcome Breakfast on September 12 at Bethel Lutheran Church. Meeting and hearing from awardees helps AAUW raise funds for future scholarships.
